Show Your Gratitude for National Child Care Provider Appreciation Day on Friday, May 6th

Whether your child attends a family child care home, a center-based program, a preschool or afterschool program, or has a nanny, you want your child to develop strong and loving relationships with the person or team that nurtures your child when you are not there. For many, child care workers become a much loved extension of our families.

Child care providers, who often work from dawn to dusk, help our very young children learn in the everyday moments. They support physical, social and emotional development, encourage early literacy and essential life skills, help to build healthy habits and offer nutritious meals and snacks. It’s not only children who learn and benefit from child care providers. Parents turn to them for expert advice, asking questions regarding their child’s development or seeking guidance on how to handle everything from potty training to where parents can turn to for help when they need it.

The last couple of years, living through a global pandemic, has underscored just how essential our early childhood care and education workforce are to our children and families. For all of the reasons listed above and many more not captured, celebrate you child care provider on National Child Care Provider Day, taking place this on Friday, May 6th.
